BTA Tank Editor
Here’s your very first look at Bubble Tanks Arenas: a screen shot of the tank editor. Check out all of the features!
In Symmetric Mode if you place a bubble on one side of the arrow line, it automatically places one on the other side in the exact same place for a very uniform tank. Or you can place each bubble individually for a unique look. There are multiple classes of bubble tanks based on size. As you can see, this is a Class 3 tank. On the side bar you can see all the ways you can customize your tank: the body’s bubbles, the primary weapons, and the secondary weapons. There are TONS of combos so that you can create your own one-of-a-kind tank! Finally, name it and go see it in action! Don’t forget that you have to pay for those bubbles somehow….

Hey guys, I’m taking this sample tank onto paint and changing up some colors. I enjoy doing that sort of stuff so you might see me do this more often with stuff like this.
Release date: 1-3 days I think.

Heh, it’s amazing. One screenshot and everyone’s psyched. I suspect, when it’s released, everyone, including myself, will subsequently be glued to their computer for a very long time. You guys sure know what you’re doing.

i have a question about the color of the game. if there was a blue background and red bullets in BT2 and BT1, and there is a RED background now what color are the bullets in BTA????? i personally dont like the idea of light blue bullets on a dark red background. kinda weird sounding ya’know??

To clear a few things up,
1. Blah 1, 2, and 3 are placeholders for more weapons.
2. The game will NOT be released in 1-3 days. Close examination of the picture reveals there is still work to do.

4. I noticed there will be armor, but does it make sense that a class 3 (large) tank will have 20% armor and 60% speed? Should be opposite to me.

well, i think ov3rkill13 could be right about it being a placement for a weapon, btu it could also be a weapon, could be short for something, like: B.L.A.H short for Best Awesomest Attack Hsystems or something.

by the way, on an other topic, did you have any early pics of BT2? because i havent seen any…
and we do all ofcourse know that the release date will be 42, since that is the answer to everything.
it is however unspecified wether it will be july 42 or august 42, or maybe 42 days from now, or years? months? weeks? seconds? who knows? no one! but, to come back to my original point, the release is in 42, starting right about the area of time that should be begining sometime… now.

@Overkill, It may be a class 3 tank but it isn’t blown up with bubbles like some others in the BT series that diameter is similer.
(Sorry for not putting this in the above.)
P.S. 60% speed 20% armor doesn’t add up to 100% but the other 20% might be weaponary but who knows……
well, there coul be a lot more classes than just 3, like 1-3 is light, 4-6 is medium, and 7 is heavy… or i could be wrong…

Vulcan, unless the tanks are in a friction-free environment, the size will have to affect the speed, atleast if your going to follow the laws of physichs…
We won’t have to pay for credits in the game will we?
It’s not the size of the object but the mass of the object affects the acceleration. Also there has to be some friction or else the tank will always be getting faster because there is no friction to slow the tank down.

i dont think anyone noticed but there are FOUR size classes, theres 1 which is where this tanks main bubble is, size 2 and 3 which this tank also indulges itself in, and also size four, this is hard to see but around the tank there is a darkened square which is ALL of class four, and there cant be a class (non-existent number), because ov3rkill13 says so.

People may huff and puff and pout and sigh and shake fists and grimace and smash computers and do other nasty things to realize that things you made first are overlapped by others and that you cant switch it.

fgdfgh and bubble tank 3, it means you need to use the bubble tank tokens that you get from arenas to buy them for your tank, parts arent un limited you know. Early blogs, posts, and threads say so. I have been here from the start.

lol Idea that is a good one…cup holders…for TANKS! the rest practically writes itself. The beauty of BTA is you will get to create any tank you can imagine! So if you want a cup holder(looking type thing) on your tank by golly you can put one there!

acctually, there is a post here with over 400 comments, you dont believe me, go check this website on bubble tanks arenas and the post called: uh oh.
they have 435 comments
but if you think about it, think, think about it, it does make some amount of sence, i mean, this blog was opened on july 3rd, and has been here less than 4 days, and its allready closing up on 113 comments, 114 with this one, and the other one was there for maybe a couple months, so i think its easy to believe that the other blog could have 400 comments, infact, im sure, if this post is left for more than 2 months, it will be over 500 posts, no doubt. because, consider this:
3 days and less than 12 hours = 114 posts.
2 months/60 day would if the intensity of post-posting is kept at this level = 2052.
but it will go down a lot, although there will still be a lot fo posts.
Yes, like turchx said, you will not pay with accual money for credits, bubble points, etc. You will probally get it from winning differnt arenas. Sort of like bot arena 3.

Joshua - I’m sure you’ll survive. To make a game of this size and with this many people involved and with this many people anticipating it…yes, it takes quite a long time.
well, if you think about it HI, you should really try making the game fast, cause the longer it takes, the better people will expect it to be, so the faster its done, the better
Why dont just all the people work on one game so that it can be finished faster?

HOLEY COW! theres a lot of comments here. and guys,what they mean when they say “you have to pay for them somehow” just means you will start with a very basic generic tank, shoot enemies/make it to a different arena, and use the bubbles you get from defeating them as credits to get better things.
I thought when they said that, that meant you have to pay for it with your own money. LOL

Well we can’t just make a game for the Wii (or another console) and send it in and be like, “Now sell it so we can make money!” They have to approach us or at least be interested.

If they were interested they’d talk to us about it. It’s never completely out of the question, but right now we’re just not concentrating on it.
I think a version for the IPhone would be cool.

and furthermore, when the game is released, i think it will be god regardless of wether they put it on anything other than pc’s or not.
also, to be able to download it to your handheld whatever, HI would have to make adownloadable version…

Technically it does because its the third game based off of bubble tanks that are in bubbles shooting other bad tanks….

It is still a 3rd of the series but not the NAMED ONE. It is more of a say, 2.5 like the Rock-man real operation exe 4.5.

I beleive that to pay for the extra bubbles for your custom tank, you must gather the nessecary bubble count so that your bubble tank can grow from class 1 to 4, depending on what you are looking for in your tank. class 4 slowest, but most armor I am guessing?

Well if you have been watchin this blog so long then you should know that we already have asked a bunch of times but they just say they don’t know yet…
Just to remind everybody about what BTA is all about and some exacts, and because I’m bored. Also this was quoted from Steph awhile back…. Enjoy!
Players can design their own custom tanks. This includes placing bubbles as well as attaching weapons purchased using a bubble credit system. Players can also come back and upgrade their tanks throughout the game.
Players can share their creations online with friends. But in order to play as a tank, you must have accumulated enough bubble credits.
The game will consist of a number of arenas. Arenas are strings of bubblefields filled with enemies that the player must complete in order to continue. Completing an arena adds to your total score and earns you tank credits. Dying in an arena will return you to the arena selection screen (This is unlike BT and BT2 where you couldn’t ever die.).
Players can create their own Arenas and share them online as well.
Scores are submitted to an online score board.
There will be a larger game screen and larger Bubblefields to battle in.
The game will auto-save in between the arenas. (That should please a few of you!)
30 user weapons (most from BT2 but will add a few new ones time permitting)
20 Enemy weapons (most from BT2 but will add a few new ones time permitting)
In the Extra Content version players will be able to design their own enemies and use them in their custom created arenas that they can also share with friends. There WILL be some sort of cap employed here so that enemies don’t cause too much lagging in the game.
Oh and one more thing. The screanshot we saw earlier didn’t seem that larger than the last…

@HI, Is it just me or did armor games get messed up? When I went to go play BT2 I went to the shooting genre and there was only the top games shown there. Lucky for me thats where BT2 is. But when I went to play it nothing showed up? Why? If you don’t I understand.

WOW!! LOVE the class system thingy…is class 4 gonna let us fill that ENTIRE box? And have zillions of bubbles everywhere with insanely powerfuly weapons and shiz? would be sweet!
Hopefully all the weapons we’ve seen from bt1 and bt2 from the player AND that the enemies use (like the poisen thingies, mini-bubbles that act like tiny buzzing fighter, MASSIVE cannons and of course…CONSUME! :D)
So how will armor/defense work exactly? Are there shield upgrades or do you just have to be clever where your put your bubbles? is the yellow bit the bit that needs protecting?

lol, you might nto know it, but most games follow the laws of “phisics”, physichs, as its really written, is everywhere, when you shoot a bullet, and it goes forward, when it leaves the gun instead of left or right, thats physichs, when you play a game and jump, and fall down again, thats physichs, i could name another thousand things, but i supose you get my point… a game that doesnt follow the laws of physichs wouldnt work, if thats how it worked you would press the left button and the tank would move right, you would shoot, and the tank could explode… you could turn the turrets, and the tank could become invisibl. these are some examples of what could happen, also, if there are no laws of physichs, your tank could all of a sudden levitate, and fall out of the arenas, and it would eb game over:/

Well, to fix that problem they could have someone monitor the system and if they make any inappropriate Bubble Tanks then the game will download cookies on there computer to not allow them to post their own tanks. But computer nerds like me know where to delete them, not that I would need to unless its spy-ware and ad-ware stuff, and also the “cookies” I talked about earlier are not the edible kind its the kind that is on your computer. hello. i have a great idea for a bonus stage or somthing. okay the extra stage is in a bathtub with a bar of soap at the bottom. you have to defeat a wave of bubble tanks to “pop” the floor and fall down to the next level, each getting progressivly harder. once you reach the bottom a huge boss would come out of the drain (or faucet) and challenge you. defeat him and you get the bar of soap. what you do with that is you can shoot it or bump it or whatever to get it to move. it will leave a trail that spawns random enemys. it would disappear soon enough. or maybe if you shoot the soap enough it will break open revealing THE SECRET OF LIFE. THAT SECRET IS…

Please be patient with Hero Interactive. They do this for a job, as stated numerous times before, they need to get the game out as soon as possible so they are trying there best. Bubble Tanks Arenas is not a simple game, making your own customizable tank is a great idea but you have to be patient. Patient. Patient. Patient. I don’t know how you can’t get it that they are trying as hard as possible. From now on anyone who says that they aren’t doing it fast enough or something like that I’m going to yell, “HIITTBSPBP!” Meaning, Hero Interactive is trying their best so please be patient!

sorta off topic: how many times has u guys played bt1 and or bt2??
for bt1, I’ve probably played for 6 hours on it once and still hadn’t killed all 37,872-ish enemies it says it creates when it loads..
bt2 I’ve played so i had every enemy and version of tank available on arena mode. (8 hours)
come on bt3!!! i bet the creators are swamped with the software and are currently fixing the bugs from gameplay… and are glued to their workstaions while doing it with monster energy drinks littering the desk lol…

@Minato, Not all people see other people’s comments so they don’t know they have been asked but I do see your point… I think the October first “theory” is wrong because I think each day the post will be closed the day after the last days post, like tommorow the posts will be closed on October second. well, there are a lot of good ideas, and soe bad, i think, that HI will use what they need to make the game better, and leave the rest, besides, they have enough people who are very good at what they do to make the game themselves…

sorry for not responding titan, my idea was as follows : hello. i have a great idea for a bonus stage or somthing. okay the extra stage is in a bathtub with a bar of soap at the bottom. you have to defeat a wave of bubble tanks to “pop” the floor and fall down to the next level, each getting progressivly harder. once you reach the bottom a huge boss would come out of the drain (or faucet) and challenge you. defeat him and you get the bar of soap. what you do with that is you can shoot it or bump it or whatever to get it to move. it will leave a trail that spawns random enemys. it would disappear soon enough. or maybe if you shoot the soap enough it will break open revealing THE SECRET OF LIFE. THAT SECRET IS…

I would have to say about the Turning Bubble tanks Arenas Into A Wii game is Pretty easy to play!
But however theres a catch. the catch is sometimes bubble tanks might get updated and if you have the consle version you would have the old version and the site would keep upgrading the Web version while you cant upgrade your game and you will be stuck with a old version.
if you do what i sugest there would be no problem like that becuse it is online aka it is the web… aka it is armorgames.com… and just play the game like that on the wii ware internet or whatever it is called

@serix95, when we talked about making BT into a game we ment that they would make it into a full sized game not just the flash version. Like for example linerider, it was made from a regular flash game to a full sized console game for the Nintendo DS, Wii, and also the PC.

Yes Armor Games is the company that sponsors most of our games, which is why their logo can be seen in some of our games and is also why our games usually come out on their site first. So to hit a couple of birds with one stone here, no we won’t automatically put it on Kongregate when we’re done. We’ll put it up on our sponsor’s (whoever that happens to be) site first and after a while we’ll add it to other sites. Also, that’s one way that we make money on the games - our sponsors pay us to put their names on the games which works out really well for all parties. They get first rights to a great game, we get paid, and you all get to play for free!

there not gonna make us pay for upgrades, the only thing you have to do is ulock them by playing varius lvs. the reason that they can do this is that they are sponserd by varius websites, and the reason that the varius websites can sponser herointeractive is becuse they display advertisements for other websites and products. to go into more detail each 100 or so times an advertisment is viewed on armor games, armor games makes $2, so you see those games with 4.5 million plays, well say ther is 4 advertisments with each play, congradulations they just made $360000 with just one game. now how manny games do they have on there website? lets just say 1000 games on there website each game has 4 ads and is played, lets just say, 50000 times on average per month. with just that they make $200000 a month. however that is a low estimate becuse games are mostlikely viewed more then that. now with the left over money (after paying there employies) they sponser multiple game companies so that they can get new flash games on there website and get more money so that they can, in turn, make a living. congradulations, you now know how the online economy works.

it should be realeased when they feel that it has been fully finished and polished until it’s perfect then they should realease it.
I noticed that the scroll bar for primary weapons can hold 9 weapons in the box and the scroll bar is only 1/(word that can not be spoken) so that means there are a total of 40-49 primary weapons

Lors98, isn’t it suppose to be Lord98, the bigger your tank is the more health you can get. That way nobody can have a super small tank with the highest health upgrade and be like a super tank.

Pixel was a very good game. I agree that pixel was a bit short but it was still a great game. You guys need to stop saying things like “It’s horible… no offense”. They cant make every game an amazing game with tons of cool features like bubble tanks. And stop asking to hear a release date. Obviously they are going to tell us the date when they find it. @yert111, its not bad to say what you like and dislike. I thought the gameplay was exiting but the shortness of the game and the hardness of aiming ruined the game. Most people take into mind that HI can’t make all games perfect for everyone but they still give their opinion whether its positive or negitive.
@Steph, well in a way you are doing what the painter did. You are showing us screanshots and such but its not messed up but its not the whole thing, just a screanshot. And thats fine that you aren’t going to release a bad version of BTA, you’ll make more people happy. But a few of us, or just me, would rather have it released with updates every week or so.

how bout a gun that when you fire it it leaves a streem behind it and if an enemy touches that streem they take damage
i think a cool secondary weapon would be a poison cloud that you could spread or a spike that you could ram into people to pop them or plant a virus inside of them.maybe some whip like bubbles that wrap around another tank smaller then you and you could use it as a shield to block other bullets or suck in another ship and blow it up shooting all of its bubbles out in a big explosion.
I hope the bullet deflector gun makes an appearance in BTA! It would have been more handy in BT2 if it were on something smaller, though. When you are THAT big, it doesn’t matter that you have a bullet deflector…
P.S. capturing a destroyer’s autoturrets would be hilarious. Stop shooting yourself! roflolmao

I don’t know, I got the plain navy blue bubble tanks shirt AND IT IT AWESOME!!!!! but that’s just because the game is awesome. if the game was lame, I wouldn’t have got it, just saying. And one thing that would be cool as even a minor weapon would be a automatic homing laser that would target whatever enemie you were currently attacking. and for a big weapon like for a special space-bar ability (forgive me if they aren’t going to do that in bta, but they did in bt2) that would be like Samus’ final smash in Super Smash Brawl…. You know, Like a 1/3 or more bubblefield laser of extreme damage/death!!!

I quite like the BT. It looks quite awesome!=)Personally I think I’ll be sittting in the computer for some time. But you guys need to be a bit more patient;)The game is not coming out soon(Probably) so just sit there and relax. Its not like a UFO is comming to erth its just an ordenary game=)About the “Bubble Tokens” you will definitely will not have to pay because then the game will not be fun(thats one!) two. Is will would have to pay then not much players will be playing it I personally guarantee you that;)

bubble tokens are most likely something you earn by playing the game if you go up i dont know 50 comments you should find my earlier post about how ppl make money on the internet. oh and if you had to buy bubble tokens it would be a must to create an account for the game and accounts for the game require servers and herointeractive said(in a earlier blog) that they did not want to do that
so enjoy bta will be a free to play free to upgrade free for everyone kind-o-game

BTA will indeed be free. You will not have to pay for any of the features in the game.

it is a huge very complicated game. Just remember that the longer it takes, the better it will be. And I once made a flash game, it was the simpelest game ever yet it took me about a total of about 3 weeks of very hard work. Games take a VERY long time to make so if theyre making a very expansive game, it will take a very long time. BE PATIENT!!

A sugestion to HI: don’t announce BT3 until a week before it’s released. The will prevent all of this from happening.

It would be very cool if we could fire a reflecting bubble around the enemy. Like what if we did it to a staionary machine gun thing? It would be dead in like half a second.
Maybe it only reflects so much damage before it fades away.

Dear Fellow Enthusiasts of Bubble Tanks Arenas,
I, like all of you are exited about the new up and coming projects by hero interactive but that is no reason for all of these posts if you are going to post multiply times why not put them into one? I’m not complaining but advising to save my time and everyone else’s just say what you have to say. It took my browser 2mins to load this page today and it WILL get worse the longer we wait so be patient and let’s hope that our long wait will be worth it when we play.
On a completely different note when will the next blog post be? it has been around a month since the last one and we all want to hear the good news or the bad news about the project. I am all for waiting and getting a better game and have been a bubble tanks fan ever since it came out. Sorry guys about the extreemly long post but i wanted to get my point across to all of the people out here.

i think you shold be able to make more than one tank, and store them in like a garage or something… and you would have to choose what tank to use before each mission. i think it could be cool.

To clear some things up:
1: Passer by, it’s pretty hard to believe that your computer takes that long to load that. I have a small little netbook with only one gig of RAM and it loads this page like theres nothing on it. Well if you have a Mac that makes perfect sense XD…
2: HI have been working on the game for only 5-8ish months. Customization is a very difficult thing. Don’t even get me started on how long Spore took. It took forever but in the end it was so awesome!!! With customization you have to generate all the possibilities of tanks.
3: Tomorrow it will be one month that they haven’t posted a new blog. Thats a little long but they still answer a few questions.
dum dum if only i could make a tank with laser’s cannon’s machine gun’s and it could fly and go in space and go faster than light and had a donut dispenser anda cup holder and a coffe dispenser and a candy dispenser and i’ll be happy

The reason for this was my web server (Tiscali) slows down after 5 o’clock so it is not my computer as it is a note book with an intel atom processor and just under 1gb of ram. I get what you mean about time i understand that as i create games my self even the most basic one i can think of that i’ve done was about 3 weeks. A game like this takes real time like 4-6 months or maybe more and the blog will be posted soon as i expect that it will be realesed in late august or late septeember. Oh and thank’s for replying to my post guys hope this helped also.

My idea for a tank is at max class 3, it will be speed 75 armor 25, it will not be as big as the rank 3 area, it probably will only have 4 (big) bubles
Weapons:
Primary wep: piercing exploding shot (reload rate slow)
Secondary wep: machine gun
Okay Passer by, that makes more sense. And lets see about this mac versus PC stuff. Well one of the reasons some people don’t like them is that they can’t play some online games and regular games. Only PCs can do those. But yes some games are playable to macs.
Also Macs cost way more than a PC My friend got a 500 dollar mac and I got a 300 dollar pc and mine works almost better than his. Macs are a bit more funner than PCs but still, Windows is better than apple and PCs are better than Macs. About three quarters of the mac vs pc commercials are lies! Macs do get viruses, Macs do get error messeges, and Macs do have long agreements. In conclusion Mas are almost as good as PCs but twice as expensive.
Although I agree that we should end this conversation, I have to point some things out first. My brother has a Mac. It is more expensive, but it is smaller, faster, and he has never received a virus. If you notice, the professional world is slowly switching to Macs, and once more programming is formatted to work with them, there will be no reason not to buy one.

Please open up a discussion about how we’re going to pay for bubbles. I have a few suggestions. We could get creds whenever we beat enemies (harder enemies=more cred), unlocking things by beating certain levels,and put a few achievements that give you cred when achieved.

Just as a typical gamer, most of us would appreciate the editor being realeased as it is finished for a taste of what we’re in for. I haven’t read through all 665 comments, nor do I plan on it, although I do skim a little, so if this has been suggested, I apologize for the redundancy. In any case, the test use for the editor could be a wonderful chance for the community to help improve the game itself, as well as find unnoticed bugs, flaws, etcetera.
i just accidently deleted what i was going to say, so i’ll repeat it. i think jordanius is on to something. there may be some hidden bug in the programming which your software might not be able to find.

this looks so cool but can’t we have a demo about how you make the bubble tanks?
It looks awesome- could you add a laser (like the leecher drones in BT2) or actually let the player stick leeching lasers to enemies like tasers? That would be so cool!
its good add moving bubbles on the tank(for exemple on the heavy heavy heavy 4 or sti]ck w/machine gun of the enemies on BT2@!)

It’d be awesome if you guys could release just the tank editor out to the public. It doesn’t even have to have all the parts available! It’d be cool to make a tank, upload it to a gallery under your name and everything, and when the game comes out, you can retrieve your tank and use it!
