Welp, long time no post!
Some of you may have caught the comment I posted a few weeks back regarding some upcoming news, and my not wanting to make a formal post about it until things were a bit more finalized. Well, we’re still working on finalizing things, but regardless, THIS is that post!
Before I get started on updates, I should go ahead and do my usual “sorry for never updating the blog” thing, so:
“SORRY FOR NEVER UPDATING THE BLOG THING.” - Me
Both Jared and myself have moved on to/started various other projects, so it has at times been difficult to balance the distribution of energy between commitments. For this, we apologize. As has also been previously mentioned, there are a few things around the site that are broken due to a recent server migration. We are aware of this and are in the process of [slowly] fixing things. Patience.
Moving on…
Alright, there are two biggish things happening over here at Hero, but unfortunately we can only really talk about the first until the second has been 100% confirmed. So, without further delay….
CHRONO SPACE!
See that banner up there? Look familiar?!? That’s because it’s essentially the same logo and font from STAR FORGE! Confused yet..? Well, you should be… because I sure am taking my time explaining what’s going on:
We are FINALLY taking some of the necessary steps toward bringing our games to mobile, and to get our toes wet we’re partnering with our good friends over at Super2Games to port Star Forge (Which will now be called Chrono Space, due to a naming conflict with another game) over to iOS and Android!
Star Forge was developed right from the start with hopes of being brought to mobile, so we’re super pumped for this to happen!
I don’t have a whole lot to show you guys yet, but what I CAN say is that we’re only a few weeks out from launch and that it’s looking GREAT! We’re right smack in the middle of testing, creating trailers, creating a website for the game, etc. so I will have a LOT more for you very soon!
I’m going to hold off with mentioning anything else at the moment, as this is already quite a wall of text, but MORE is coming!
Thanks for always being so awesome!

I MAKE POST!
I am now Happier…
with a capital H…
I knew that it wouldn’t be too long until you said something after you did the check on my spinny globe and enabled it.
How did I never see these white squares in the corner? they’re awesome.
that is, of the “make comment” zone…
Spinny globes are awesome.
White squares?
The things to expand the comment box
those are kinda lines
I’m HAPPIER with a capital HAPPIER!
Capital AWESOME!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! You make post!!!!!!!!
Yay! This is so awesome, Star Forge really is perfect for mobile, and I can assure you I’ll download it the moment it comes out! It’s so great to see you pushing into new areas and showing that your games are always fun. I’m so excited!
On another note, if you don’t mind me asking, what has been going on these past seven months? I’m not a game developer, so maybe I’m just being ignorant, but this doesn’t seem like it took that many months to get this far. Maybe it’s just personal stuff, and I can respect that, but I am genuinely curious if you’re willing to tell us.
Yep! We’ve got a number of games that would be perfect for mobile (Shifty, Bashing Grounds, StormWinds, Vector Boom, just to name a few!).
That’s a valid question, and I should begin answering by explaining that currently it is just Jared and myself (Eric) running things here at Hero Interactive, and neither of us does this full time, currently. We both are working on a number of other projects outside of Hero, but this in no way means that Hero doesn’t have awesome stuff planned for the future.
Once I can announce the second piece of big news, this’ll be a lot more clear
Do stormwinds next!!!!!
p.s. i’ll download chronospace too!
It could happen!
I decided to play the (online) game, and honestly I much prefer the other games.
Still pretty cool though
Which is your favorite?
BTTD1.5 with BT2 in a close second
Pirate defense is what ive been playing this week
Star Forge was always one of my favorites. This is awesome news.
Can’t wait to see what else you guys are working on!
More is coming!
WINTER IS COMING
I JUST SAW THIS ON FACEBOOOOOK!!!!!!!!!
JUST posted it there
I know the game’s been out for about 4 years, but could you please add more parts packs to Bubble Tanks 3?
Also, I too think that games such as Stormwinds, Shifty, the BTTD series, Pirate Defense, and even Lightsprites and Starshine would be great for mobile. However, games like Bluep, Microbe Kombat, and the Bubble Tanks series would not be the best mobile games.
I’m excited for Chrono Space!
I’ve always thought that a pvp system would work well with bt3, but you know, different opinions is what makes a community.
here have a smiley face.
Bubble Tanks Oculus VR full immersion experience. Boom.
And for the FULL experience, play fully submerged underwater with breathing tubes.
i literally just lol’d
Thank you! Here’s one back:
At the moment there are no Parts Packs in the works, but more could still come in the future.
I really like the idea of getting LightSprites to mobile! I think it’d be PERFECT.
And I mostly agree with you regarding Bubble Tanks not being a great fit for mobile, though we get approached almost weekly by people who think differently. At some point we may settle on a way for it to happen, but the controls just aren’t catered to a non-mouse experience.
At this point you might just aswell make a new bubble tanks altogether
There’s a much higher likelihood of that happening than there is of a new Parts Pack, currently.
Awesome! Do you think pixel would work well as a tablet game?
I have to admit I am very biased to pixel, it’s one of my favorite series.
We’ve actually talked a lot about possibly bringing Pixel, or a new title of the series to mobile. No plans currently, but we agree it’d be awesome. We’ll see what happens.
I would LOVE to see pixel
BAAAWWWW!
I thought there is gonna be bubble tanks 4 or something!
This is really sad for me.
No sads allowed!
I have several questions:
Bubble Tanks will work well on phone, It seems like a great idea.
When is Parts Pack 3 gonna be?
There is no bubbletanks3.5.
Also, when is the next featured tank coming?
I have several answers:
I don’t think that Bubble Tanks would be the best mobile game, as it is designed for computers.
I just asked that question. Parts packs could come soon, but HI is not currently working on one.
Not yet.
Post a tank code and you just might get one.
^What he said
Or they could make a New bubble tanks altogether…
I haven’t on this blog for a month (mostly due to getting a brand new laptop) Anyway, what is this more?
wcb
Thx,
if it weren’t for the fact that people would try to go to other bubble-fields I could imagine a co-op bubble tanks would be amazing.
It would be amusing to see how people’s different play styles interact and see them try to balance each other out.
and also, is bubble tanks played on the surface of the water, or under the water? I am just wondering how you get bubbles inside bubbles if so.
can’t wait to see what else is coming up…
We’ve never really specified where the universe exists.
Aww well… so much for playing BT3 and making new tanks with it… (Have not been able to upload any for like… awhile) RIP my creations
We’ll look into it. What exactly happens when you attempt to?
Whenever I log into my Bubbletanks.com account (Ingame) the flashplayer crashes
Are you playing the game on herointeractive.com? I just tested it out on my end and it worked fine.
Sometimes other sites embed the .swf in weird/interesting ways which don’t always mix well with the way the game is setup. Unfortunately, there’s not much we can personally do to combat this… :/
Samething happens on armorgames too
But have you tried it here on herointeractive.com?
Yes, same thing
Have you tried resetting your cache? Similar problems happen to me every now and then but I just reset the cache and it works fine, if that doesn’t work then I would have no idea what to do.
And how exactly do I do that?
It depends on which browser you’re using, but it’s mostly a similar process for all of them.
Here.
That did absolutely nothing…
I don’t seem able to recreate this issue on my end. Which browser/OS are you currently using?
Chrome and just upgraded to Windows 10
is the quote button new or did I just never notice it?
I think you just never noticed it, cause as far as I can remember it’s been there for a while.
That’s pretty much always been there
While the text that happens once you press quote is weird, the quote button is fairly new IIRC. I could be crazy though.
I think if you duys ever make a BT4, you should put it on Steam.
*guys,sorry
No, just no
Bubble Tanks on Steam would open a lot of doors for the series. It’s on our radar.
yay
That might be cool, would take a little getting used if it were to happen, but it would be cool, But parts packs (especially for people who have already bought them) may be a little awkward.
Either way I am exited to see whatever happens next.
If it were to happen, it’d likely be a completely new title in the series, not a port of BT3. Parts Packs from BT3 wouldn’t have an association with the game.
good good…
no matter what happens I am sure it will be amazing.
have a smiley face!
Actually, the quote button has been around for quite a while, maybe even since the beginning.
Yep. From the very beginning.
Fun fact time!
Captain Coppergravel: This is not the first HI game.
Alien Abduction 2: This game was based on a never-released game.
Bubble Tanks: There are nearly 8,000 bubblefields.
Lightsprites: This game would be perfect for mobile.
Starshine: The only game besides Bubble Tanks and Stormwinds to have a sequel.
Triangles: This is a true 2-in-1 game.
Stormwinds: There are at least 25 levels in this game. The final boss reappears in Stormwinds 1.5 as the next-to-last boss.
Stormwinds 1.5: This game was the first to be released after the blog started.
Bluep: This game was probably one of the most forgotten HI games. I mean, come on! Jumping Bubble Tanks?
Bubble Tanks 2: This game spent a long time in development. (But not as long as BTA.)
Microbe Kombat: This game is one of the most likeliest games to have a sequel.
Starshine 2: This game featured a Puzzle Master where players could make their own levels.
Stormwinds: TLC: Several of the ships in this game are modified versions of those in Stormwinds 1.5.
Pirate Defense: This game inspired BTTD.
Vector Boom: This game has sound effects from Stormwinds.
THGFOL: The Game: It is possible that THGFOL will have another game. (When THGFOL is off duty, he is working at HI as mild-mannered Eric.)
Pixel: Once you beat the game, you unlock a Bubble Tank player. Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to fire bubbles in Pixel…
Paint the Fence: This game was announced and released during BTA’s development.
BTTD: This game would probably be one of the best HI mobile games.
Jimmy Bubblegum: It is technically impossible to blow a bubble that big, let alone fight wizards with nothing but gum.
Bubble Tanks Arenas: This spinoff game took the longest to develop. It only introduced one weapon: the Mega Cannon.
Stormwinds: MRC: This game is not like any other Stormwinds game.
BTTD 1.5: This game introduced the Stealth and Swarm enemies, which did not appear in the sequel.
Bubble Tanks 3: The only game to have content yet to be released.
Checkpoint: This game vaguely resembles N: The Way of the Ninja.
Star Forge: This game will have a mobile sequel, Chrono Space.
Conjure / Shifty / Retired Wizard Defense / Pixel 2 / Bashing Grounds: I don’t know enough about these games to post fun facts.
Dead Metal: This game reuses BT3′s gaming engine, and was originally called Scrap Metal.
BTTD 2: This game is very different from the others in the BTTD series.
AWESOME!!!!
That’s a lot of facts
just one more and it would be 30 facts…
I bet you didn’t know that there are nearly 8,000 bubblefields in the original Bubble Tanks. Then there are probably over 100,000 enemies every time you play!
is that not fact No. 3? (besides the enemies that is…)
Dang. Nice list, dandoom360!
By the way, for those interested, Chrono Space is looking like it’ll be released near the end of this month. I’ll do an actual blog post closer to the time, trying to only do actual blog posts when I have substantial information to give you guys so that you don’t get sick of me always just saying “stuff’s happening soon!”
Thanks!
BTW, what is the likelihood of there being a Bubble Tanks Arenas 2?
Not high, but not zero.
A large group of them are not facts at all.
Yes. I know that, but I couldn’t think of facts for those games, so I decided to throw in some other information about the game.
I enjoyed them
This is a test of bold and italics If this is spam and HI deletes it, we’ll know they’re still alive.
