News!

Just thought we’d give you guys a quick update on what’s been going on here at HI! The past couple weeks have been spent pushing out  a big Zoo-Opolis update, which has been talked about a bit on our Zoo-Op fanpage (on FB) for those of you that follow that. It’ll be including new creatures, new items, and new enclosure items. Plus a few new features, bug fixes, and general optimization. One of the big new features is Mystery Gifts! Send them to your friends (and get them to send them back to you!) for a chance at items, coins, and even diamonds! We’re also adding a few new enclosure types… What’s that? You want to use the new enclosures but don’t want to rebuild the whole enclosure and interrupt breeding? Great news! You won’t have to! Another new feature will be the ability to change your enclosure type. If you’re no longer digging that picket fence you bought on the cheap, you can now easily replace it with something new.

In other news, next week we hope to have updates on BTTD2 and Pixel 2. Shifty and Retired Wizard Defense are done, just waiting on the business side of things.  We’re also getting ready to do a wide-release of Checkpoint and Star Forge. Keep an eye out for them on Newgrounds, Kongregate, and other portals. Actually, Star Forge is already on Newgrounds and received a Daily 3rd Place. Check it out, and start earning your medals!

Conjure Update!

ConjureCheck out the updated Conjure on Armor Games!

After reviewing the feedback on the Conjure, we’ve made a couple changes. We replaced the laptop-friendly shooting style with a new method that’s much easier (and still laptop friendly). Just click on the screen and hold to increase the angle of your shot. If the original shooting methods were giving you trouble then we think you’ll enjoy this one a lot more! We also fixed typos and other glitches.

Conjure Released!

Conjure

Play Conjure on ArmorGames now!

Conjure is a shooter game in the spirit of Bowmaster Prelude. Pull back and aim your spells at enemies! Conjure has a twist on that concept though: ELEMENTS! Your foes, allies, and spells are all element based. There are four elements, and each is strong against one element, weak against another, and neutral against the third. PLUS they each have their own unique attributes. Upgraded wind spells knock enemies back, and upgraded earth spells slow them down.

Take control of awesome spells and kickass elementals as you take down your former apprentice and save the kingdom!

BTTD 2 Game Icon – You Choose!

So we’ve been having some artistic debates here in the office regarding the promotional asset for Bubble Tanks Tower Defense 2.  Normally we would resolve artistic disputes the old fashioned way, with nerf swords.  But we’ve decided this round to let you guys vote on which of the below images you like better and save the poked out eyes for later.  So… what do you think?

Conjure Update #2 – And Other Stuff

Conjure

Hey, remember that game we’ve been telling you about called Conjure?  Still working on it.  But the good news is we’ve almost got it wrapped up.

We thought the game was nearly done a week and a half ago but then after playing we decided to put in a bit more work into it.  We had initially planned on having fewer elemental types, since then we’ve expanded it greatly and we are even adding two bosses which we are working on right now.  Altogether the finished game will have 24 different spells and 30 different enemies with completely different art (7 types of units * 4 different elements plus two bosses).  We also added a dialogue system so the wizards in their castles can yell at each other across the battlefield.  Yeah.

We also added more aiming tools (Easy mode has a line that shows you where your spell will hit) and a second set of firing controls so if you don’t want to click and pull back you can hold to build up power and release.  We added the ability to gain experience in a particular element, this will boost your abilities with those spells which is kind of neat and useful.  Did I mention the bosses?

Anyways, it’s coming along.  Seriously, we’re going to be releasing it soon.  Consider that in the first 6 or 7 months this year we will have released about seven games!  Compare that to last year, we only released 4 games throughout the entire year.

In other news:

  • We’ve been lazy about the Friday comics.  Sorry about that, we’ve been EXTREMELY swamped with work and busy.  True story.  Hopefully we can get back in the groove, I expect a comic for this Friday.
  • Tomorrow I’m going to have a blog post on Pixel 2.  And if you’re good, I may even give you some video.
  • For Zoo-Opolis players, expect more stuff soon.  We’re whipping up some more creatures and hopefully soon we should be pumping out some new features.
  • Retired Wizard Defense is nearly done, our sponsor wanted us to add translated text for the game in about 10 different languages, it has taken time.
  • Shifty is pretty much done still, right now we are doing business stuff with it, ie. looking for someone to partner with on it’s release.  We want to get it on the iPhone.

That’s it for now.  More later.

Conjure Update

Conjure

Conjure is still in development and very close to being done. If you missed the announcement, Conjure is a shooter game in the spirit of Bowmaster Prelude.

KC’s been pounding out some epic art for the elementals, so we thought we’d share that with you. Here’s some of the earth guys:

Just wait til you have these guys busting down your door! There will also be a few different enemy types. In addition to the basic melee, you’ll be facing ranged guys, healers, and flying monsters! Things are gonna get REAL!

As I said, the game is close to being done and should be out within the next couple weeks!
