Today is Steph’s (MY!) birthday! Hooray for another year! Anybody wanna make me a cake?
For those of you who celebrate it, Happy Thanksgiving! Go eat and get good and fat. Happy holiday season to everyone!
About a month (or s0) ago we ran a poll asking which kind of contest you’d be most likely to participate in and the overwhelming winner was a contest of the fan art variety! And since we’ve been getting fan art submissions for some time now I have no doubt that this contest will garner some awesome stuff. So here it is!
Submit your best piece of fan art! It must depict Hero Interactive related material (it could be your favorite game, the Hero Interactive man, or even a “portrait” of the HI team!)…be creative! Any kind of materials can be used (digital, crayons, collage, food, mud and sand, whatever) but a digital version of the piece must be submitted (so you need to scan it or take a picture of it so that you can e-mail it to us).
*You must be at least 13 to enter (seriously…we know this is sad but you really need to be 13 or older).
*You may submit more than one entry.
*Keep it clean, please! Anything that is grossly inappropriate will just be ignored.
*All submissions must be received on or by December 31st, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern time zone)…so basically we need them before this year is out!
*E-mail your contest submission(s) to email@example.com
All three places winners will get some awesome HI merch. from our store! The first place winner will get a large package including an HI t-shirt (of your choice), a journal, magnets, and some extras that we haven’t decided on yet. Anyway you’ll get some awesome stuff.
Any questions can either be asked here or directed to the e-mail address mentioned above. Happy arting! GO!
The infamous Hero Interactive whiteboard strikes again! This is the rough plan and overall layout of BTTD levels that the guys have been working off of all this time. Keep in mind that this is just a “drawing board”…and please note the ghost and the banana. Those are essential to game design…I think.

Hero Interactive is happy to announce our next upcoming title, StormWinds: The Mary Reed Chronicles! Set to be released (hopefully) soon after BTA in 2010, SW:MRC will be a hunt and click adventure game in the same vein as The Several Journeys of Reemus by talented developer Zeebarf. As a player, you’ll follow the heroine Mary Reed and her steampunk robot sidekick “Rusty” as they begin their sky piracy career by hijacking a massive Demo airship (see the herointeractive.com main page under “SW: The Lost Campaigns” to see the airship!) and rescuing Aglorian captives. Taking place 4 years after the events of StormWinds: The Lost Campaigns, the game will continue the story and should include a number of familiar elements (see Gyrocopter below). Needless to say, we’re very excited about this game!
More news as it comes out!
I think we’re still going to be adding more things, but you can now check out all of our cool new magnets as well as our sweet new Hero Guy image on items such as mousepads and journals! Click here to check out the awesomeness!
Hey guys. Jared here. Long time no see. Steph’s out on vacation today so I get to be the one to blog today!
Great news! Bubble Tanks Tower Defense is delayed! In traditional HI fashion, rather than getting a partially finished game this week, you all can look forward to a fully complete and awesome game released either next week or the week after! Huzzah!
Ok, that’s actually not great news at all. But unfortunately we need just a little bit longer to wrap this one up. We’re on the home stretch though and are nearly finished. With a whopping 52 different levels and maps all needing to be played, balanced, and tested, it’s taking far longer than we expected to nail this one down. But as always, we won’t release a partially finished game- you guys deserve the best. So sit tight and bear with us.
To add insult to injury, I’m bestowing you all with two recent screenshots of yours truly playing the game.
And they’re right! This is for all of you who think that making games is easy…
Sometime this week (or next week…whenever we get around to it) we’re going to be removing some items from the Hero Interactive store and adding some cool new ones including a sweet new poster that’s been designed just for the company! We commissioned an artist some time ago to create an original poster for the company and thus far it looks SOOOOO cool! We can’t wait to share it with you.
Stay tuned and be sure to check out the store for all your HI gear needs!
We are VERY proud of the cool music in all of our games. These ones have really popular music…
Over the last few months we’ve really settled into our office. It’s become almost like a second home to some of us! We’ve got art, plants, books, a t.v., and even fun figurines on our desks including cows, dinosaurs, and action figures. Check it out!
From top left: part of the “Wall of Fame”, the ever-expanding library, our new art, and some plants; Eric hard at work; Jimmy and K.C. having a meeting at our super high-tech and modern “conference table”; the game area which includes a big fluffy couch, a t.v., and a couple of game consoles (oh yeah, and the vacuum…we need that to keep things tidy!).
